SQL Server 2000 Mainstream Support Ended on 8th April

A quick reminder that mainstream support for SQL Server 2000 ended on 8th April 2008. You can read more about this here.
As I understand it, what this means is that although there will be future security fixes for SQL Server 2000, any other fixes will only be available if you pay Microsoft for extended support. So if you are still using 2000 this might be a good time to finally bite the bullet and migrate to 2005 (or maybe plan for SQL Server 2008?). After all, it’s fairly likely your 2000 application will run fine in compatibility mode on SQL Server 2005.
