UK Access User Group National Seminar – Working with Access 2007 and SharePoint

Posted by workerthread on October 31, 2007

I’m going to be speaking at the UK Access User Group National Seminar at Microsoft’s offices in Thames Valley Park Reading on 16th November, on the topic of “Working with Access 2007 and SharePoint”.  I’m beginning to see quite a few SharePoint applications being put together which in the past might have ended up as Access applications.  There are some important caveats though, as I will hopefully illustrate during my talk.

There’s a fair range of topics on offer, and some good speakers, including Martin Parry from Microsoft on Office development with Visual Studio 2008, and Alan Cossey on his Access 2007 developer experiences.

The full agenda can be seen here, and online registration is available here.

End User SharePoint

Posted by workerthread on October 24, 2007

I came across a nice site from Mark Miller the other day, called End User SharePoint.  Mark is based in New York City, and his motto is “No GeekSpeak on SharePoint 2007”.

The site content includes lots of useful little screencasts on creating a SharePoint Document Management Center.  Mark’s articles are worth reading as well.    I particularly liked the one on Learning SharePoint 2007 – Incremental Steps.
