SharePoint in Education – Twynham School

Twynham is a mixed comprehensive school in Christchurch Dorset.  The’ve made extensive use of Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services to develop a suite of teaching and learning resources, as well as providing a central gateway for students, parents and teaching Staff.

Dave Coleman at the School has put together a set of videos, PowerPoint decks and PDFs which describe how the portals and resources were developed and how they are being used.  You can take a look at these here.  I am seeing very strong interest in SharePoint technologies in the education sector, and if you want to see what can be achieved I would strongly recommend taking a look at this material.  Even if you don’t work in the education sector it is worth a look to see how SharePoint Technologies and Reporting Services can be put to use in an intranet/extranet portal.
