Excel 2007 has a great many (some would say too many) options for using conditional formatting, including top/bottom rules, data bars, icon sets etc. I just discovered, using online Excel help, that there is a downloadable Excel file available which shows some good examples of these features, and how to put them to use. Worth a look if you are planning to use Excel 2007 to create dashboard-style reports.
Finding out Where Something is in Office 2007
September 10, 2007… and where it was in Office 2003. Microsoft blogger David Overton has published a handy link to downloadable Excel files showing where commands are in Office 2007 products and where they were in Office 2003. I have to say I still get a little lost finding some commands in Office 2007, particularly in applications I don’t use every day, like PowerPoint, so these could come in useful.
Download SQL Server 2008 CTP4 as a Virtual Hard Disk
September 7, 2007I just noticed that you can now download a pre-configured Virtual Hard Disk (for Virtual Server 2005 R2) so you can take a look at the new stuff in SQL Server 2008 without installing CTP software on your own kit. It’s a fairly chunky download (2.2GB in total) and can be downloaded from this link. You don’t even need to sign up through Connect.
